Originally a royal retreat and known as ‘London’s Arcadia’ for hundreds of years, Richmond has always something on. Despite its small size, Richmond boasts two theatres, two cinemas, London’s largest Royal Park, and a great range of shops and restaurants. Sports fans are also very well catered for, with Twickenham stadium just a short walk away. Travelling by river is a great way to see many of the attractions in the area from a different perspective, with the river Thames running through the heart of Richmond and linking the town centre to Hampton Court Palace, Ham House and Kew Gardens.
